Takes a metric shitload of competence to be able to march in such al lackluster fashion. (or maybe an imperial shitload; this being the United States with interesting sizes.) Having never been in the military or any marching organization, I still have noticed how automatic it is to sync up walking.

It wasn't poor planning on the Army's part. Lyin' Donnie just doesn't know -- or care -- how things work. He could have consulted with someone who does these things, and submitted to a schedule for the event he had in mind. But no. Toddlin' Donnie wants what he wants when he wants it.

They probably could have done a lot more if they didn't have to deal with the logistics of protecting streets from tanks. Even without that, there wasn't enough lead time to organize spectator events, arrange participation from other organizations, arrange sufficient PR and logistics, etc.

Watching those troops march all I could think of was my basic training days when we were instructed on how to properly move across a parade ground. The folks in that parade were protesting- silently and with conviction. I applaud their efforts.

If it had been a true military, Army anniversary, parade as originally planned, I'm sure it would have well done & well attended. It was 47's egotistical, selfish, highjacking of it for his birthday that destroyed it.
