Most of the comments on this Reddit post and Twitter are from people who have no idea what they're talking about, insisting that FOSS and Linux aren’t political. It’s crazy how many users don’t really understand FOSS.

Tbf Linux is political in a different way than GNU for instance. GNU is political because the FSF is ideological, and Linux is political because any sufficiently influential tech also starts to be politically relevant
Debian for instance is political mostly like GNU, as they have a social contract with “political” stuff and stuff like that. I think Debian is more open regarding politics than the FSF tho
Still political tho, but when GNU stands by a (relatively) well defined political ideology, Linux is a place where multiple political entities compete for influence, just like RISC-V
