It is very instructive to think how a society where people were _actually_ equally free to choose would differ from what we have now.

For one, the markets would actually allocate resources (more) efficiently.

Exactly.

If the people were _actually_ free to choose their jobs, ie didn’t have to risk homelessness or social exclusion through poverty etc, pay scales for different jobs would look VERY different.

Most current low-paying jobs would either be automated, or amply compensated to attract workers.
