(That's probably one reason the Overton window has moved so far right that we now see billionaires doing Nazi salutes on live TV.)

Give us a decade, and the Kremlin too might remember there was a reason they've been so paranoid about an attack from the West.

And by then, Russia will have spiraled further into economic ruin and irrelevancy, as there's less and less need for a mafia-owned gas station with horrible demographics.

So you have to hand it to Putin too: only a real master strategist could not only double the NATO border facing Russia and bring even the Swedes into a military alliance, but also cause a real risk that the developments he sets in motion will one day result to exactly the threat he tried to prevent.
