Where this falls down in modern society, it's impossible to completely avoid participation in animal rights violations. Being a feminist in principle and practice is achievable. Being against human rights violations in principle is good but guaranteed that you own something produced by a slave.
To further clarify, we must be committed to the principles that we are against oppression and exploitation. The pragmatic issue is that we can only do what is within our realistic individual power. When everyone does what they can, it makes further progress possible.
