When I was stationed in Camp Lejeune we got a dusting of like 1.5 inches of snow. You could divide everyone into 3 categories:
-Northerners who just stayed in the barracks
-Southerners who went on beer runs no problem
-Dudes from SoCal/Texas who'd never seen snow and flipped their jacked up trucks

people in the south are on balance better at driving in winter conditions than people in the midwest/northeast because salt trucks are far more scarce. when they do face inclement weather they have experience driving through it on a far higher difficulty setting. in addition the food is better there
