I'm not as hyped for this as I was for Eternal

I will say it's odd how little they've shown so far
Mick Gordon not being involved this time is also a bummer. I'm still really excited for more Doom though. I can't wait!
Will have to wait for the Xbox showcase coming soon, maybe the gameplay can build up some hype for it.
What an obtuse, stubborn game. I keep meaning to go back, but I found that gameplay loop to be so *annoying*. So antithetical to fun.
"You will play the way WE want you to play"
That and I hated how they didn't follow on directly from 2016.
Enemies felt too tanky and bullet-spongey and the controls felt just too clustered and busy
The lives system also felt kinda out of place
Plus, I got distracted with Animal Crossing
Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a bad game by any means and I did have fun.
But the game has big pacing and balancing problems which made a lot of my playtime feel like a chore.
My excuse can basically be summed up to just Animal Crossing
Eternal I really didn't care for, it felt like it went the opposite path story wise and game play wasn't really my cup of tea either.
Got no desire to touch it again while I would gladly replay Doom 2016.
But how can we back devs that punish someone who did absolutely nothing?
Changing Doomguy's character so he didn't communicate via his interactions with the world was a massive mis-step.
I got a few hours in and not once did he smash something because it bored him.
