The real Bill Slawski (RIP) wouldn’t post this kind of offensive, self-promoting gibberish. He was the type of man who I’d send a DM to when I was visiting Carlsbad, and he’d drop everything to hang out with me at a coffee shop for 3 hours to talk

He was so kind and intelligent. And he would say the most random things that would make me burst out into laughter. The first few times I talked with him at SEO confs, he knew I was familiar but couldn’t place me. I was flattered that he’d always make a point to have a meaningful conversation.

It took Bill and I 15 years to finally actually meet in person. It actually changed almost nothing about our friendship, as we'd known each other so well, for so long, that we already knew more meaningful things about each other, especially in how we really acted, than even a week together would.
