Niedzwiecki worked closely with Medvedchuk's unofficial envoy to the EU, Oleg Voloshyn, on lobbying for Medvedchuk. Krah has had contacts with him for many years and calls him an “old friend”.
Voloshyn has just been indicted in the UK on charges of bribing a British MEP for Russia.
Amid all these scandals, Krah continues to maintain contact with Voloshyn. He last met with him and his wife on a secret trip to Russia in November 2024. At the same time, the couple organized a meeting for two other AfD politicians with Dimitri Medvedev, the leader of Putin's ruling party.
Krah has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. So far, no investigations are pending against him. The Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office is still investigating whether there could be any initial suspicion against him regarding Russian or Chinese funds.
Investigations against his AfD party colleague Petr Bystron, who, together with Krah, took Medvedchuk's side, have been suspended until the EU Parliament decides on the lifting of his immunity. The investigations concern corruption and money laundering. He also denies the allegations.
