After all the big talk in Rome today about the ceasefire negotiations, I was totally appalled that Trump has doubled down in his decision to recognize Crimea as Russian territory. Not even a hint of a hesitation.

While Trump pushes for Ukrainian minerals and concessions, the human cost for Ukraine is enormous. That cost is for the freedom of Europe and small compared to potential US NATO obligations if the war expands. If the US 'walks away' from the peace treaty and Ukraine, history will judge us horribly.
