Some of the sports that are divided by gender don’t need to be either.

Like the Billards controversy. Why is that even divided by gender anyway?

And the laws being enacted are aimed at young ages where sports are coed anyway.

there was one recently where a right wing girl complained about going up against a trans woman in fencing

which is a coed sport already

and where she went up against cis men in a tournament some weeks earlier without complaint

but she got lots of sympathy and cash grants from right wing outreach

they are now even barring us from /chess/ tournaments, as I guess we have some sort of advantage in our brains too? boy I would love to know what benefits all these so-called advantages provide to me as statistically I only get paid 62% of what a cis man does in the same job role

I saw that. Notice how it’s not the top performers complaining about their opponents gender. That fencer that complained is primarily a D ranked fencer. (Fencing is on an A thru E scale, A is highest)

Just seems like excuses for subpar athletes.

I'm not sure what the right answer is, but I don't think this would work well since men are generally stronger than women of the same size. If you look at Olympic weightlifting records for the same weight class as an example there are large differences

this is one of the small number I'm aware of that my statement "even I can comprehend" is for. while I'm unsure if there's any scientific data to validate it, I'm relatively sure having significantly more massive bone structure and lung capacity confer some advantage in that particular sport.

that said, weight class division probably brings men and women much, much closer at the same weight, but powerlifting or the like might be one where there's still statistical outlying difference.

Yes in strength based sports, it seems trans women may have an advantage, but in cardio based sports they have a disadvantage.

It’s a worthwhile discussion to have, but to me it really only matters at the top most levels.
