It’s no coincidence that rolling back women’s rights often aligns with authoritarian politics. In Poland, the Law and Justice party passed one of the world’s strictest abortion bans, while ALSO undermining judicial independence. In Brazil, we saw a similar dynamic: former president Bolsonaro sought to curb reproductive freedoms and undermine gender equality initiatives AS WELL AS weaken democratic institutions. 7/9

Bolsonaro and Poland’s Law and Justice Party no longer hold power, and Yoon’s political future looks increasingly shaky. But authoritarian creep remains a global threat. And we know it’s tied to the rollback of women’s liberation. 8/9
