Hitting US digital empires is one of the most cost effective strategic weapons Europe has at her disposal.

One of the most powerful and effective weapons being deployed against Europe including Ukraine right now is social media. Europe can and must invest in its physical defence capabilities, but it will be costly. Banning X and other apps that seek to subvert our democracy is free. It can be done now.

Individual countries across the world have blocked one or more of these companies.
And nothing happened.
The sun still rose from the east and set in the west.
For cloud, for example, every critical service needs redundancy even today.

As for next steps: donβt seem to be required.
Add to that the blocking of US companies, Europe would essentially be back in the dark ages.

Acknowledging limitations of one's country/bloc isn't defeatist. Refusing to do so, is.
