It all comes down to propaganda, THE most powerful tool in a political party's path to victory. The Republicons have had that machine in place for 30+ years. Dems never got it, they needed to counter that, even when it became SO OBVIOUS that Fox Noise and extreme right wing radio was devouring them.

I appreciate this paper and I agree with the point about energy costs--but the cost of living in Ontario is absolutely a driver of discontent. Blaming the feds for that might be a consequence of disinfo, sure, but it's difficult for me to separate that greivance from the vibe of disenchantment.

Yes. Carnegie lit indicates its most common among anti-dem party-supporters fueled by grievance. Yet in Slovakia the anti-dem party lost when Lib party refused to be drawn into a grievance/culture war debate & maintained focus on anti-dem threats instead
