I was about to play it but I'm going on a long trip and only going to have my Steam Deck with me, and I don't wanna do an FPS the disservice of trying to play it with a controller (yeah I'm sure it's probably fine with a controller, but I'm not)

Asylum is a first-person point & click adventure from the developer of Scratches that is a bit buggy and janky, and I have some issues with it, but my god there is nearly nothing else like it, the atmosphere is incredible.

Okay, I was gonna say Fear The Spotlight needed more love too, but since I last looked it's hit over 500! Hurrah!

So instead, I'll say Late Homework, another spooky horror game set in a school that takes inspiration from Silent Hill. But definitely play both.

On the topic of horror games, The Tartarus Key is like what if they made a Resident Evil that was just the puzzles? You're trapped in a very Spencer Mansion esque location, and have to solve some very Survival Horror esque puzzles. It's wonderful.

Sounds like I may wait until closer to spookmonth, but in a point and click, atmosphere is a big selling point.

i can also recommend scratches as you've mentioned, it is available on abandonware sites and it's a pretty good time.

one note though, some versions have a bug where the front door opens opposite of the handle, don't spend 30 minutes trying to figure that out like me!
