oh my god this game. the gameplay is hard as balls but very satisfying. the story absolutely broke me. it will leave a permanent mark on your soul. I cannot recommend it enough.

I'd also recommend Warm Snow if you want a really awesome roguelike with a Chinese mythology setting, it's ridiculously good. I must pick up that new DLC at some point.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is quite a little gem, part rice farming sim, part action platformer. It's a very delightful game, rarely hear people talking about it though, which is a shame.

Heart warming characters and story, educational (learn all the insanely hard work goes into cultivating rice), and a rich and fairly deep action game. Crime it didn't get more attention.

It was one of those weird situations where it wasn't part announced during a Nintendo Direct, but was shown off in one of those post-show Treehouse showcases. Like from the start it wasn't given a chance to reach a wider audience.
