Kinda top-down metroidvania or oldschool Zelda type game, and truly something special. Terrific pixelart, some magnificent boss battles, and lots of great upgrades and traversal mechanics that are introduced at a steady space. A true gem.

Did you play Clair Obscur and think to yourself "goodness I love turn-based combat, I need some more of that in my life"? Well, here's an absolute love letter to oldschool JRPGs, and boasts some of the positively exquisite pixelart going!

Straight up one of my favourite games of last year, it is magnificently atmospheric and moody, a phenomenal soundtrack, and an incredible gameplay loop that is surprisingly relaxing, punctuated by moments of sheer panic.

I was a little let down by how the ending went, but the gameplay (and soundtrack) were just so fucking solid
I listen to the soundtrack a LOT still
The elevator pitch for this is basically bitesize Darkest Dungeon, it's got a very simple visual style reminiscent of the Gameboy, quite a delightful little game, and for the price? Honestly a steal even at full price.

Soulslike Metroidvania with an interesting twist, where all the bosses you defeat end up joining you as spirits who grant you new abilities, real wonderful game, has a phenomenal soundtrack too.

Utterly brilliant dungeon crawler meets typing tutor, it was my Game of the Year 24, just came out with a big content update, and is just consistently amusing throughout. There's nothing quite like its Mavis Beacon Teaches Necromancy gameplay

Straight up one of the best retro FPS titles going, a fascinating Eastern European setting, the atmosphere is unparalleled. Starts off channeling Quake but gets creepy and weird. Puts the brutal in brutalist.

I love the battle system in it and WANT to go crazy with it and break it, but it does that thing that many western jrpgs do of being 'anti-grinding'
