The arctic sea ice area is the lower than all the other years in the data set for a given date in 2024 (12th Dec) this is the first time this year it’s “achieved” this dubious record 😔😢😡🤬
Wonder how long it’ll stay lowest since 1979?

I'm in Northern New Mexico at 7500' altitude. We have had, and are forecast to have daytime temperatures in the mid 40s to low 50s F for the entire month. We shouldn't be above freezing in December. Basically 20deg F higher than we should be every day.

I am in West Central NM at 7500'. Our snow pack is usually building by now. The earth is parched and cracking. Our temps are about average, though. I actually had a wildflower bloom last week.
