I read that! So apparently the Marvel contract just allows them to reuse artists’ work in ANY property without any additional compensation, right?

Yeah, that's what made me "drop the game instantly" levels of mad. The game hypes up artists as a theme and uses them to market the variants almost exclusively, and yet they're not compensating those artists for the interest their work generates.
