the mask the emperor wore really did trick me up until halfway through book 4. god i love meatbuns writing so much even when i try and piece it all together she’s really good at writing complex characters with thick masks on.

can’t wait to see what mask murong lian is wearing. i’m thinking he might be who asked zhou he to erase gu mangs memories again. might even be the one who put the chess piece in lu zhangxing though i’m not 100% convinced cause it doesn’t make complete sense but i could be missing some info still.

or it’s juang fuli. i only say him cause i really want to believe murong lian isn’t evil (plus other info i don’t feel like typing out) and it’s been established over and over jiang fuli would do pretty much anything for the right price

there’s more information to prove murong lians innocence than there is pointing to him being behind this. jiang fuli doesn’t have much to prove his innocence but the only thing really pointing towards it being him is his lack of morals when it comes to money so idk we’ll see.
