Rep. Gerry Connolly is stepping down from the Oversight committee because his cancer has returned.
Three months ago, Nancy Pelosi whipped the votes for Connolly to receive the Democratic leadership position over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez citing his seniority.

Also, this is EXACTLY why we didn't want him in this role when he ran just a few months ago.
Pelosi is a Trailblazer with many successes but at this point her input is not needed nor welcomed. In this pivotal moment that requires courageous leadership, is it AOC?
Pelosi should have retired from congress to enjoy all the accolades she has rightfully earned. Now these missteps are the things she will be remembered for instead of the ACA etc.

Just checked committee members, other than Rep Jazmine Crocket, Vice Ranking member, not convinced others can meet the moment. Paraphrasing, "She would be willing to step in but conversations need to be had before any formal announcement can be made."
He’s done a lot of good things. Big fighter for the ACA among other things
Sad that his cancer is back with a vengeance.

Democrats need strong leadership and Congress was not intended to be a retirement home.
They have got to get behind a youth movement...and fast.
WE DEMAND NEW LEADERSHIP!
Your old ways and old leadership has deeply failed us.
AOC is the way forward
We demand it
Just like my Senator Durbin has been great overall...and who finally has the sense to move on for the next generation.
they can't give it up and retire gracefully.
