I'm a school librarian and my book "Teaching Media Literacy Using Graphic Novels: Cross-Curricular K-12 Lessons for a Post-Truth, AI World" will be published by Routledge in 2025.
I would love to be added. I’m an academic library director who has curated a popular graphic novel collection, has presented on comics and libraries at conferences, is a regular columnist and podcast guest at @majorspoilers.bsky.social , and has been posting #IHadThatComic here for over a year.
Hello! My colleagues and I have a guide about manga + school libraries coming out! ♥️ https://alastore.ala.org/mangaschool @mangalibrarian.bsky.social @smwordsmith.bsky.social @mounabat.bsky.social
That’s great to see! I used to find comics and manga at my local library, but there’s no way my school would have stocked manga and the only comics they had were The Simpsons and Captain Underpants (although I hear even that’s under fire these days).
I’ll certainly be following folks in this starter pack. I’m a massive fan of GNs. I buy many for my K-5 library col’n. I buy many non-kid ones for my personal col’n. Though I don’t always post a ton about them, I do sometimes; would appreciate an add.
For some justification, I'm building the PCOM library graphic medicine collection and have frequently presented on disability representation in comics.
I'd love to be added as well! I'm trying to gain traction for a graphic medicine collection at my library. We're currently planning a read-along with events for Menopause (CK Czerwiec, ed.), coming up this spring semester.
Hello! I'd like to be added please! I'm a YA librarian specializing in comics, and I contributed to #MangaGoesToSchool as a co-writer/artist! (I think my art account is in the starterpack)
It gives the the warm fuzzies seeing other folks documenting comics! I was wondering if this project would fit your scope? Personally I'm self taught, haven't been able to follow through with a masters yet, but my database and blog are archived by the Library of Congress. https://www.loc.gov/item/lcwaN0028570/
