This resonates, the excuses we find. I had a friend who would pass me in his car going in opposite directions on the same stretch of road every Monday evening. We'd wave & after a while he asked me, where do you go every Monday. I wasn't brave enough to say my weekly counselling session. Until now.

It so is. I read "swept under the carpet" last night... I found the paragraph below so very true. Not having to worry that others might look at you with those why?/how? questioning eyes!

"I can be myself; no secrets, no judgement, no having to explain why I didn’t tell anyone and didn’t say ‘no.’"

Such an interesting read, which definitely resonates. It's the huge stigma that silences so many and the not knowing just how others will react. I don't know any of any other survivors in my offline life but having this community on line is a real life line 🙏
