I wanted to not like it because I’d seen the “penis and vaginaaa” clip and heard about the representation being off.
And yes it was odd. And camp. But I ultimately found the richness of the storyline and the power of Emilia’s arc to be incredibly moving.

To have a high adrenaline, high profile movie with such a powerful trans character and a story that dramatises the trans experience so well, is incredibly special to me. It left me ugly crying for way too long after it finished.
