Tonight in 1983, NBC broadcast the controversial made-for-TV movie “Special Bulletin,” which uses fictional news broadcasts to dramatize terrorists threatening to detonate an improvised nuclear device in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina, unless the US Navy disarms every nuclear weapon in the area.
