Had an amazing 3-D CBCT scan of my teeth today - in preparation for the second phase of an implant. I have the titanium bit now to have the new tooth made. The scans allow the dental lab to precisely make the new gnasher. No more squidgy paste (which I rather liked!). - ThreadSky

Oh my goodness Gracefield Dental in Portarlington is brilliant. Dr Jerome Sullivan was absolutely amazing. Saw many dentists in the UK, here and my birth country and he is by miles the best.

I got one done a while back, scanned, moulded, modified, baked and fitted in just under two hours…. Cool 3d scanner, a bit of tweaking in CAD then moulded & baked in a little desktop oven…
I was sooo impressed. My wallet less so, but hey.

Had 2 implants in 2003, & almost finished the process for another 2 now. The digital mapping is great. I was always terrified that the gungy stuff would pull out the original implant or any loose tooth.
All due to a motorbike incident aged 18, lost 1 front tooth, other 2 lasted until 2022, not bad!

I’ve had an implant inserted a couple of months ago. Most traumatic thing I’ve ever had I think 🤦‍♀️ tooth being restored next week 👏🏻

Cracked a tooth a couple of years ago and had to have an implant. I’m a total dental phobic but I survived! The bank account was a bit bruised though!

I had one of those earlier in the year. But I got the squidgy paste as well. 8n fairness, everything fit perfectly afterwards.

I had a new implant last year & the difference in technological advances since first ones 15 yrs ago is incredible. (I've also got the 3D model of my mouth made from latest digital scans which lives in a teeny box in a drawer & would scare the life out of any burglar thinking it was jewellery!)
