i keep seeing calls for a liberal equivalent of the mid 2000s Tea Party movement. the last one i saw boiled down the Tea Party as the electorate being annoying enough to get the legislation they wanted.

for one, this was an astroturf movement. i think people see the protesting and the repeated calls to representatives and assume that was the driving force. these things have their importance, but they're massively dwarfed by the influence of koch brother money. 2/9
