That just makes nuclear eye-wateringly expensive rather than ridiculously so. Then everything has to be stainless steel, there's no available coastal land, no HV lines, room for contain ment ponds etc.

Fresh water will become a very scarce commodity.
Desalination will provide fresh water for drinking, agriculture, industry.
Salt returned to the ocean will maintain ocean salinity.
Hi Ian. The oceans already consist of 97% of Earth's water. Yes, I suppose there might be some dilution, but we don't expect all glacial ice to melt. Fish more like to die from acidification, but I'll look into that.
