How is the shutdown of USAID affecting what's happening on the ground in Ukraine? I must admit I am extremely ignorant when it comes to how all the NGOs and aid organisations are interconnected.

It directly affects dozens of them who don't know how they are going to pay their staff and continue their work in the weeks and months to come.

Thank you so much for sending this over. I had to put your article through Google Translate as French isn't one of my languages but am now much better informed on the devastation this sudden cut in funding is having on the ground in Ukraine. It is absolutely heartbreaking and rage inducing.

One of my team members at work is based in Ukraine & spends all of her free time volunteering from making camouflage netting to baking cakes to raise money. Therefore, through her I am learning about how much Ukraine relies on volunteers and funding to provide much needed services.
