I thought most artists did that 😂 There was a thread on twt I remember seeing ages ago of artists talking about how they come up with pose references and a bunch of them did everything you said! I found it hilariously endearing.

It seems to be a thing for artists. I swear I've stared at my canvas like 😡 because I was mimicking the expression. I need to feel it to be ably to draw it. Then trying to gauge if a pose is realistic? Do it yourself. Artists are just wriggling around on their chairs like worms while drawing 🪱😂

For me it's mostly because I'm trying to see if a pose is realistic or not haha. So I'm standing there like a marble statue. Or referencing my own hand and trying to angle it the same way so I can reference it 😂
