'.. chop back on the size and the calorie content of the lunches - probably chopping them back by a third.. kids were getting about 11 or 12% of their total energy needs for the day in the lunches...the old lunch was "about twice that, about 20%."

Oh yeah. I know lots of them. I've got to the point where I just say that I don't care about anecdotes anymore, I'm only interested in the data. The affordability index shows it's harder now. Then add on the per child payments they used to get and housing corp mortgages etc etc.
