This is massive progress by Ukraine on the true front line of the war: Putin's wallet. The thugs will abandon the battlefield when Putin runs out of cash. His savings are running out and he can't borrow more. The house of cards fall as the liquid assets go to zero! #EconomicFragility #RussiaFailed
Igor Iβm wondering if Russia has anything to do with those fires in California. As it is extremely unusual for wild fires in winter months, unheard ofπ’
Not in the LA basin, where I used to live. Thereβs an annual event called the Santa Ana winds, happening in fall and winter months. Fires in those tinder-dry hills are common when those hot dry winds blow in from the eastern desert. But climate change has made it worse.
It *is* definitely possible that one or more of the outbreaks was deliberately caused by an arsonist. I think I read at least one report that a suspect was detained for setting a fire, but I havenβt seen further reports to that effect.
I lived in the basin (Inglewood) between β79 and β82. Back then I think the area got more rain, and the Santa Ana winds wereβt quite as severe. Iβve read that the gusts this time approached 100mph, which is amazing. Some fires are sparked by power lines touching each other in the wind.
Unlike gasoline and somewhat counterintuitive to its use, jet fuel is an oil similar to kerosene. It is not highly reactive nor energetic. So, it burns slowly. That's why this fire has burned for days on end and could burn for weeks. It will eventually destroy this entire facility, I would imagine.
Do you have coordinates?
Or is this right.
Here the tanks are 20 m in diameter and their estimated volume is 3000 - 6000 m3 / tank. https://maps.app.goo.gl/83aP7xKumhHGwnaU7
