Amazing. One of the last of what were once 150+ Dutch plane-spotting towers built in the '50s, where volunteers watched with binoculars for Russian planes flying too low for radar. Ended in '68. Not clear how many they ever spotted! #brutalism

Walled shooting ranges were built all over the country, to train the national reserves.
And a (sea) mine-spotting group too.
