My Switch 2 won't display to my TV. I have the dock running a 3rd party cable to a HDMI switcher box and that box runs another 3rd party cable to the TV. When I plug a Roku in to this setup, it displays fine. But the Switch 2 says nope. Anyone else having a similar issue? - ThreadSky

Make sure that if you run the cable from the dock -> TV it displays and then check cable from switcher box -> TV. There’s some wizardry on the Switch 2 that prevents some stuff from displaying.

I can't do that unfortunately. My setup is literally bolted to the wall and the TV barely moves. I pre ran 4 extra HDMI Cables when I set it up preparing for PS6, Switch 2, and Xbox 720. I confirmed then and now it works with other devices. Even works with Switch 1. But Switch 2 is being a pain.

The 3rd party cable probably needs to be ultra high speed HDMI, as in HDMI 2.1

So my problem was that the Nintendo Switch 2 can't use 2 of the same 3rd party cable (one to the HDMI switch, and one to the TV). Both cables were identical.

But when I replaced one with the official Switch 2 cable, it worked. This breaks my brain logically. If 1 cable works, why doesn't 2?

The Switch 1 uses this exact same cable without issue. So does higher end consoles like the PS5 and the Series X.

We have to assume a fair percentage of gamers have way more devices than ports on their TV and use some type of HDMI switch box in their setups.

Also, my TV is 75 inches. From where the HDMI ports are on the back of the TV to the nearest edge of the TV is 41 inches. I'm not sure what Nintendo is thinking giving a 5ft cable considering how large TVs are these days. Not every user can place their Switch 2 right beside their TV.

Here is my setup. HDMI switch box (1) and Switch 2 (2). That's as far as the provided cable can stretch. I can't even pull the switch to the front of the shelf. This is very less than ideal for a gamers setup and a premium device. A 6ft cable at the least should have been the starting point.

And one less thing to note, I have 15 devices hooked up to this gaming setup that use HDMI cables. 14 of those devices use the 3rd party cables from Amazon with no issue. The Switch 2 is the only device that has refused this cable.
