It’s always been this way. I was doing research in a law library one time re: a divorce. The 1st child abuse case had to b tried using the law that protects animals from abuse because no law existed to protect kids from abusive parents. CPS is ALWAYS under staffed and under funded.

The country is a lot more than merely these "thoughts-and-prayers" goblins, masquerading as "Christians." They choose to celebrate their contemporary golden calf (the assault weapon), and they're oh-so-smug, hiding behind the gunstock. They'd squeal like pigs if the barrels were pointed at them....
It’s not the country. It’s the GOP. Through voter suppression, gerrymandering, Russian disinformation, billionaire acquisitions of media, and possibly even hacking the vote, they’ve clung onto power in a nation that’s evolved past them. But they’d rather break us than give up their money and power.
