As an Australian, I was wondering that.
I keep half-expecting some Executive secret-agency to enact some legislation or special power to F#CKIN' DO SOMETHING!
But sadly, no. Quite the reverse.
It seems your founding fathers didn't anticipate something like Trump. And who can blame them? Who would? 🤢
The problem is our founding fathers DID expect this. They just didn’t expect that the party responsible for supporting or holding this regime accountable to have completely embraced complicity.
Exactly. They tried to safeguard against a tyrant with checks and balances. But one of the safeguards is Congress and they are definitely failing to curb this dictator. In addition neither is the judiciary, granting him immunity is also part of the problem.
So pretty-much no separation of powers, which means the machine is broken.
So the next step is an escalation of what's happening now. And not Red/Blue - Republican Vietnam Veterans are taking down the flag in protest, and this will hugely influence the active military. And that will trickle down.
From an outsider looking in, they appear to be fucking useless. Even though they don't have a majority, it still apears that not much at all is being done to fight back. I may be wrong but that's how it looks from the bottom of the world.

But I see what you mean - it doesn't really matter when the entire party are cowed or corrupt or both.
Where are the good ol' days, when a couple of sudden heart attacks and tragic car accidents would have solved everything.

So, what I can do is raise my voice and join the other millions marching.
We must keep up the pressure.
It’s so frustrating not having individual power. BUT to be among all the other millions protesting is inspiring.
