This series remains my favorite of her work but it can be a lot, the first few chapters alone are very intense but gripping.

One of my favorites! It’s genuinely difficult to read other speculative fiction after that one since it raised the bar so high. Wildly inventive, strikingly original, with a one of a kind prose style.

It's a solid series from her. Without spoiling it, it does have a heavier tone than some of her previous books. But the character crafting, world-building, etc. are as solid as ever

If you liked her other books, you'll like this one. Probably lol

I personally would start with The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms series. The Fifth Season series is still VERY good, don't get me wrong. And she even improved as a writer. But THTK is a better intro to her work, I think.

I have heard this a couple times😭😭 I just don’t have the physical copy of those.
I thank you for the advice. Maybe I’ll make next year a N.K. Jemisin year and start oof with that after I get my hands on it.
