This assumption that Liberals/Dutton have got it in the bag makes me what corrupt shenanigans they have in store. Like preferences flowing from a mass of tiny, random ‘Independents.’ And yes, we have preferential voting but many don’t do it
So on further investigation roughly 40,000 were polled this company then uses what resembles a guess from a trimmed down selected 8,000 of the original polled. They have been around 20 years and have only correctly guessed two International elections. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!
Really? YouGov claims a large sample population, but cherry pick 8k out of 40k for the right outcome?
YouGov, founded by a Tory MP, have a suboptimal reputation (esp. specialist pollsters) & The Guardian is happy to promote this wedge and PR for Dutton....?
Yes and it has ties with Vanguard through the main shareholder. I also can't believe that Guardian would stoop this low to publish this rubbish article. There is no doubt there will be a lot of electoral interference this time around.
We have two new independents in the seat of Franklin - they’re both x Liberals.
People need to view each Independent singularly to be sure what & who you’re voting for.
Voting LNP mirrors the U.S. path. Trump and Dutton employ divisive populism, undermine DEI efforts, oppose big business yet support corporate interests, and push conservative agendas. They exploit the working class while promoting policies that deepen social inequalities.
You spelt "Labor" wrong. Think you'll find they're the ones doing cosy deals with Dutton on numerous issues like election funding & shutting down criticism of Israel by labeling it "hate speech".
They may both be going in the direction of populism (I’m guessing since that’s the way of the world now) but I couldn’t see them in a coalition, with Greens as the opposition, surely?
YouGov has ties to Advance. Very questionable transnational company working alongside LNP political propaganda campaign disinformation. Referred to AEC for Interference in 2025 election along with Advance, Topham Guerin. https://theaimn.net/yougov-no-im-just-kidding/.
He'd have to negotiate, so it's unlikely.
Compare with Bracks v Kennett in Victoria (1999); and Gillard v Abbott (2010): both times Labor got the support of relatively conservative independents to get over the line
Greens voters supposedly moving to Liberals. Media hiding the facts that all gains for actual workers made by Labor with be taken back.
Many unknowns here, but rest assurred if they think the cost of living will go down they in for very serious shock.
I love that Peter Dutton, he looks scarier than Don Jr after a wild weekend in Cabo!!! I’m sure he will warm the hearts of all Chinese Australians as he wages war with Xi!!!
The usual response is that it's up 2the voter 2 make their own preference choices.
In the past I've accepted that BUT NOT NOW NOR THIS ELECTION.
I'm not going 2tell them who they should support but till we know where who they'll support I won't vote nor preference them

And they can't read their payslips.
But I think One Nation is where Duttons heart really is.

We don't know when the election will be held and this push polling just tests voters' suboptimal knowledge of issues presented by the RW MSM?
Too easy....
