last night i learned of a person that's seen over 200 phish shows (starting in 1998) and says "the disco biscuits suck. they are terrible"
i wonder what it's like to be him. what a strange existence

and as far as lyrics go, neither band gets close to Robert Hunter level profundity
some silly, some meaningful, but neither band's lyrics are deep like Grateful Dead, for example
But I have yet to meet a single person that got into tDB or Phish because of the beautiful singing, lol
1) the scene has changed so so much and for the better since then
2) equating not liking a band's fanbase with not liking their music is wild to me
but when it comes to these two specific bands, I cannot wrap my brain around loving Phish to the point where you see hundreds of shows, and simultaneously thinking the Disco Biscuits are "terrible"
a lot of biscuits songs sound *heavily* influenced by phish
Not like I base my musical interests on fanbases. it's just a side observation I've made
It was pretty fucking dystopian.
