Heh, I wish I could say everything I do is intentional, but the broken lines are more of a side effect 😅
In fact, something that Tabuley taught me! instead leavin' onion skins on all the time, I generally leave 'em off and just flip back and forth a lot, which results in me lifting my pen often!
I definitely should not be considered the last word on anything animation related, but honestly I find it easier without 'em!
In my case I think I focus too much on copying the form (which I can always fix later) and not enough on the motion/spacing when I have them on
it seems counterintuitive at first, but definitely without! It seems like it'd be easy to tune out the preview lines, but for me they definitely affect my ability to judge the proper spacing
i just realized since you don't use the onion skin, does that mean that you don't do main keyframes and tween or do you just blaze right through? (apologies for the 20 questions i'm just so curious and im learning myself!)
nw! and it depends
If the motion isn't super exaggerated, I can often get away with not making a new key pose, and just go straight-ahead w/o skins
If an animation does require me to make new key poses, I do sometimes use skins to help keep my keys on-model or at least consistent, lol

I'd like to try doing comms someday, but I've got no plans at the moment 🙏
