AVG
.246 Tied-102nd.
HR 8 Tied-40th
RBI 20 Tied-97th
OPS . 822
Great stats for a guy making $5 million a year a 1/4 way through season.
Mets are winning so I guess the $600 million guy doesn’t matter. 🙄
Using AVG and counting stats in the big 25 💔. Also OPS actually undervalues guys like Soto who walk alot. Going 3-4 with 3 singles (1.500 OPS) is not twice as valuable as going 0-1 with 3 walks (0.750 OPS), no matter the context
The saying "Statistics don't lie, but they can be misinterpreted " highlights the potential for statistics to be misused or manipulated to deceive. While statistics themselves are factual, they can be presented in ways that are misleading or skewed to support a particular narrative
Did functionally 5 for 14 provide any RBI or HR?
Also Soto, who was caught in-between with a half-swing, did not hustle to first.
This decision sparked intense backlash from fans who believe Soto had a chance at an infield single had he ran hard out of the box.
Selfish behavior," one stated.
