I'm very curious if European leaders are fully prepared for having to step in if/when the US ceases all aid/support for Ukraine. Beyond the cost, my general sense is that US military capabilities still are critical for a decent amount of C5ISR/logistical work that would be hard to plug.

Europe surely has no these capabilities. They can try buying stuff from third countries. Maybe try to give UA some advanced weapons. But they will think twice right now, because maybe in near future they will be needing it for themselves.

No need to save stuff for later. The war Europe is facing is now, in Ukraine. A defeat for Russia will or would set Russia way back and provide security for Europe. Europe both needs to arm up for the current war and prepare for more.

The analogy is not the 1930, imho. It’s 1944. What is happening is the Anti-D-Day. As if the US told Hitler in 1944 to keep Europe and USSR, as long as the US gets its lend-lease money paid back.
