About time someone said something about these parasites. It isn't only the AI ones too: indie clipping has been near exclusively sexually explicit and misrepresentating, and corpo clipping is getting just as bad.
It's time we stop worshipping clippers and stop pretending they're a tenth as important

I dunno, I do believe clipping is still incredibly important, as it's making the chances to discover someone by accident better. It's just the fact, that too many of them are interested in tits and ass that's the problem. And it's a fact in streaming as a whole, not just VTubing

Translators and clippers of yesteryear were important in bringing VTuber culture to the west, but clipping in general was always a part of streaming culture, so let's not pretend, that every clipper is a parasite leeching off of creators.

Definitely, but one cant deny current day clipping is in a good state. I did a post myself using screenshots.
Clippers that actually transform the content healthily (like adding subtitles, if possible adding a translation too), and focus on sharing different parts of a streamer are really great,

But when you then look at the recommendations, even if you never click clickbait clips, it will still swarm your recommendations.
It causes indie vtubing to be seen as purely sexual, and that's a MAJOR problem.
And that's without counting the drama channels contributing to VTubing's current poor rep
