Fellow veterans: the VA is apparently sending out letters asking "minorities who identify as LGBTQ+" to sign up for and participate in some type of research project. Under this administration, please don't fucking do that.

It's time for defensive don't ask, don't tell. Back in the late 80s we generally knew and were told not to ask to give plausible deniability. If they are asking now, don't freaking disclose anything.
This needs proven with pii blacked out and then blown way the fuck up in volume (get unreasonably loud). Legion, DVA, VFW, any veteran groups. Get so loud the media has to deal with us. That shit canβt fly.
At my recent appointment, they also asked about sexual orientation. In over ten years they've never done that before. Was it a question added or just overlooked for the last 10 years?
Iβve been asked that by the intake nurse in my visits to the primary provider within the last few years. Itβs part of a long set of questions on physical and mental health, sexual behavior, and exercise habits.
There is a new program available where they providing psychedelic therapy for advanced PTSD cases. I just finished participating. Thereβs some good things still happening with the VA.
I got that letter but it was a month ago and was part of a funded study. I wonβt be surprised if the study gets shut down. I would recommend vets not participate until things change in Washington.
Sounds like someone is making a list of research subjects for something like the Tuskegee Sysphilis Study...or worse. I hard second that: I would not respond under this admin (as you say), or any with connections back to this admin.
