We watched star trek section 31 and it was pretty bad, probably the worst star trek property so far, down there with star trek nemesis, but with less emotion than nemesis had.

I really struggled to watch it. I was excited to see Michelle Yeoh back in her element as Philippa Georgiou but this was not it. Very predictable story and the acting from the others was meh at best. It was just all over the place
DISC: "Philipa must return to her own time, or she'll fall apart."
S31: "Hi. I'm alive in the 24th Century somehow. I'm not over a hundred years old. And I can still kick really high."
Also, 100% less Fuzz and whatever his species was supposed to be, please.
That's fine, the choreography was good, I personally didn't care about the fights though because I didn't really feel the need for all the sword fighting/hand to hand. The phase shifter device really felt forced to me, just so we'd get a martial arts heavier movie and just remove phasers altogether.
Absolutely with you, 100%. We switched it off after 45 minutes, it was God-awful. Like Oceans Eleven meets Mission Impossible meets Discovery. So disappointing.
Well if you wanted something about section 31, you'd almost never know it was about them. If you wanted star trek, it didn't really feel like that either, if you want Michael Bay fight scenes and explosions and lots of exposition it's fine.
I've been keeping my distance from just about anything authorized by Alex Kurtzman over the last almost 15 years now. I was about 13 when I saw the first reboot movie and I've been cringing ever since. Lower Decks has its moments and Strange New Worlds is decent, but...

Was it groundbreaking, or original, or very Trekky? No. But I had fun watching Yeoh do fighting and I had some cheap laughs.
THE HORRIBLE, STUPID, SPLASHY SLAG-GUN FIGHTS! GAAAAHHH! THE BAROQUE DIALOG! SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS AS A ROBOT WANDERING THROUGH MEADOWS! WHHHHYYYYY?!

How disappointing to have a trek movie with no redeemable features
Is Section 31 really the worst addition to treklore, or is it the fan obsession with Section 31?
(Rewatches DS9 instead)
