It is not just HIV. I spoke with someone yesterday whose mother would have been a young mother in the 1940s. She had to have multiple blood transfusions to save her life. At least one transfusion led to her contracting hepatitis and, ultimately, dying of liver cancer.

My husband has severe hemophilia B, factor 9 deficiency. He has a port and has to infuse his meds every Sunday. I have the opposite condition, I clot too much and am alive because of blood thinners. This isn’t just about HIV. This is obscene.
