Feels like nobody outside Sacramento realizes that Fox is an NBA All-Defense caliber talent, steals leader last year, and physically much much stronger than you would expect.

True, he’s not consistent on anything. Has a tendency to sleepwalk 1st and 3rd quarters. His lack of a consistent killer instinct is why he hasn’t ascended to superstar status (yet?).

Ya I just don’t buy the defender argument just based on steals. He rarely closes out with effort and is so inconsistent defensively throughout the games. I don’t think he or LaVine is a good defender. They can be good team defenders with effort.

I wrote “caliber talent” as a sneaky way to caveat his defense was inconsistent. He’s NBA All-Defense when locked in. He’s got the talent and physical tools. I’ve seen him do it plenty of times.

At his best he can be a 3 level scorer, consistently voted the fastest player in the league and can use that speed to be a shut down perimeter defender (but picks his spots).

I'm not a Kings fan, but I've watched a lot of their games living in Nor Cal. Fox to me is one of the best closers in the league. He has a go-to mid-range shot/floater game that is very tough to defend. This was SA's missing link, so I'm interested to see them go to him more in closing seconds.
