Yeah… I’m flying 1-2x a month now, and coming out of ABQ I always have a layover in ATL, LAX, or SLC, often long ones, so the access for the delta sky clubs and Amex lounges was worth it for me
they make a huge difference, both for kids and for work
a few weeks ago I scored a private work room in an SFO united club, minutes before a skype meeting I thought I'd have to do audio-only in a noisy terminal.
Hilariously now that I trek to Charlottesville a few times a year I end up with like hour long layovers in ATL almost every time, and it's the same gates every time that are right next to each other.
The quiet of those lounges are dangerous. I always want to sleep!
Last year we shared flights w/ one of our new UNM colleagues to a conference & asked if they wanted to join us in a lounge during layover since we could each bring a guest. They'd never been & looked like they'd just discovered a new world.
When I was younger I spent a lot of time in airline lounges and I do not miss the married middle-aged men in white button down shirts hitting on me. I’d rather sit on the window ledge by the gate. I’ll buy my own drink.

The quiet, food, and fast WiFi alone was enough
