But the two who voted to uphold the 2020 election results were also amongst the many House GOP to sign the amicus brief in support of TX v. PA (a lawsuit filed at SCOTUS, contesting the results of the 2020 presidential election). So, essentially all of them are election deniers.
I don’t know the records or profiles of many of them, but it doesn’t seem like the current roster of House GOP has a decent option amongst them. Dangerous time for our country.
They were both horrible — I don’t personally think the degrees of horrible-ness need to be determined. But your point is valid, esp. since the lawsuit got less attention.
I'll put it this way, you could grant for argument's sake all of the absurd legal arguments for why Congress overturning the election would have been a right and constitutional thing to do, and Texas suing Pennsylvania demanding the Supreme Court overturn the election would still be totally insane.
By the Baude/Paulsen definition, objecting in Congress is not insurrection or rebellion. Abuse of the legal process can be rebellion under their definition (but not insurrection).
They didn't hang much on that point and were more just teasing out what if any difference there is between insurrection and rebellion. But that is still a problematically broad and not very persuasive reading.
Fuckin’ Pete Sessions. His summer campers were on the same tour of the Pentagon my parents and I took in 2012 or so. They embodied his level of respect for American institutions.

In their defense, who in their right mind would want this job?
