The mere fact that the top judiciary of a state is elected, diminishes its statue to just a group of unprincipled politicians. Wisconsin needs to change this. In order for law to be blind it needs to be free from political interference.

Yeah, here in Massachusetts, the Gov nominates SJC justices, but the Gov’s Council needs to approve the nomination through a majority vote. It’s still democratic since the GC is directly elected by the people, but it gives the SJC more legitimacy. I’m a bit bias, everything is better in Mass 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Why doesn’t Wisconsin make this illegal? It should limit the amount of donations people can make to state races. The state surely can create guardrails to keep elections fair.

(Two things I'll add here: @wisdems.bsky.social runs a tight ship with their phonebanking programs, and in this sort of weird off-year election random calls are more useful than the norm because a gigantic chunk of the voting public simply doesn't know it's happening.)

So many of these things were done unsuccessfully for 2024. Action that needs more emphasis is social media, but your links in that section won't open-can't view what is suggested, but hope it includes YouTube. Texts & phone calls are ignored. We need to reach the folks watching YouTube primarily.
